Here at The Business Centre (Cardiff) Ltd, we’re always looking to get involved in the local community which is why we’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Young Enterprise.

Young EnterpriseWe have come together to give young people in the local Vale of Glamorgan community the opportunity to learn more about the business world, develop essential skills required for starting their own businesses, as well as learning real world experience as to what life post-school may entail.

The Company Programme, run by Young Enterprise and supported by The Business Centre (Cardiff) Ltd, will offer a real business challenge for young people aged 15-19, in which they set up and run their own business over the academic year. It is designed to unlock the potential of young people and students by helping them to develop and demonstrate 8 key employability competencies including: confidence, resilience, problem solving and teamwork!

To ensure this programme reaches young people in the Vale of Glamorgan we are looking for local schools to come on board with us and give their pupils the opportunity to learn new vital skills from the Business world. Plus, individuals that take part in the Young Enterprise scheme are twice as likely to start their own business than their peers!

The programme encourages young people to become more ambitious, creative and enterprising learners. In fact, typically, students who have participated in the Young Enterprise programme will have a better understanding of entrepreneurship and business than their peers. In addition, research from FreshMinds found that students who complete the Company Programme typically earn between £40,000 and £45,000 annually once they reach the age of 30, whereas their peers that haven’t completed the programme will achieve a salary of £26,000 – £30,000 per annum.

The real world benefits of the Young Enterprise scheme to young people in the Vale of Glamorgan are numerous. We’re really excited about this new partnership with Young Enterprise and cannot wait to get started!
