Did you know that in 2016, Britain reached a record high with more than 650,000 new businesses being recorded! This builds on previous records of 608,110 in 2015 and 581,173 in 2014.This comes from a ground breaking report undertaken by the Centre for Entrepreneurs (CFE)’s analysis of the latest Companies House data. Whilst unsurprisingly, over a third of these new businesses have been registered in London, the rest of the UK has kept up! London lead with 205,325 businesses registered in 2016, followed by Birmingham (17,473), Manchester (9,416), Glasgow (7,845) and Leeds (7,645). Closer to our home, is Cardiff which also had a record year for new businesses, with 3,066 recorded in 2016 – a massive 10% rise on 2015!
